About us Prof. Dr. med. Piotr Kasprzak

Since the inception of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Surgery at the University of Regensburg in 1992, the field of vascular surgery has been an important part of the clinic with regard to teaching, clinical research and patient care.
Vascular surgery cares for 1,100 patients annually of which 800 undergo surgery. In more than 200 patients interventional procedures are performed in close collaboration with the Institute for Radiology. Collaboration with other clinics and institutes is of great importance and in particular includes the Institute for Radiology, Institute for Anesthesiology, Clinic for Neurology and Clinic and Polyclinic for Internal Medicine II (Cardiology and Angiology).
Vascular surgery is an important focus in the surgical program of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Surgery. The volume and spectrum of the treated patients makes it possible to answer important clinical questions of current interest as well as to provide postgraduate training to medical specialists.
