The University Clinic for Orthopedics offers a holistic treatment of all patients suffering from congenital and acquired disorders of the posture and movement organs. We offer the complete spectrum of today’s available diagnostic and therapeutic services.
With 158 beds, the clinic covers the whole area of invasive and non-invasive orthopedics, including the special orthopedic pain therapy, the technical orthopedic treatment as well as the acute care and the long term care of paraplegic patients.
In the area of invasive treatment, minimally invasive and computer assisted surgery techniques as well as modern endoprosthetic and osteosynthesis techniques are applied when possible. We conduct more than 3,500 surgeries per year in four modern ORs. Additionally, more than 2,000 patients are treated conservatively as inpatients or in the day clinic for special orthopedic pain therapy. In the University day clinic, about 13,000 outpatients are treated or counseled per year.
A close interdisciplinary cooperation with other departments of the University Clinic Ulm is in place in the areas of oncology, rheumatology, geriatrics, pediatrics and social pediatrics.
